The Wild PT was born out of a passion for capturing adventurous images and being unable to turn off a “PT brain” while out on trips.
The photography part:
Olga’s curiosity in photography began in the USSR, as a 5-year-old impatiently waiting for photos to develop in a makeshift bathroom darkroom her papa created. After immigrating to California, she burned through frames on the family camera on the only affordable vacations available – road tripping and camping.
Sometimes she brought that camera to local concerts for a change of scenery, trying to catch that sweaty hair flip on film.
Camera always in tow, she now splits time between exploring cities and nature alike in all her local and international travels.
The physical therapy part:
“You should be a PT to fix yourself.” This high school joke that was repeated after every sports injury turned into a great idea.
Olga’s interest in movement, injury prevention, and the outdoors lead to various jobs through college including a NSCA certified personal trainer, outdoor guide, rock climbing instructor, and challenge course lead facilitator.
Now as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, she works in a variety of settings focusing on rehabilitation for patients with orthopedic and neurological injuries, as well as part time work in pediatrics. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, her mind is always scheming to bridge the gap between wellness practice and physical therapy, trying to catch that injury before it occurs.
